Nau-Roz Bayrami: March 21
Nau-Roz Bayrami is a public holiday in Azerbaijan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
Nau-Roz or commonly known as Nowruz in Iran, is celebrated on the first day of the spring usually falling between the 20th and the 22nd of March every year. In Islamic solar calendar, Nowruz is the first day of Farvardin or Iran’s first solar month.
The word Nowruz came from the Persian words ‘now’ meaning new, and “ruz” meaning time or day which later on was taken to understood as new year’s day since it is celebrated once a year.
