Liberation Day is a public holiday in Italy.

Each year, on the 25th of April, Italy celebrates Liberation Day, locally known as La Festa della Liberazione. Liberation Day commemorates the day when Italy was liberated from the direct control of the Allied Forces after the World War II. It is also the date when Italy remembers those who perished in the war. In some context, it also commemorates the fall of Benito Mussolini’s Italian Social Republic in 1945.

Unlike other holidays in Italy that are only recognized in a certain region, Liberation Day is celebrated nationwide.
