Father’s Day is celebrated in Canada and the USA.

In a bid to celebrate the efforts put in by our fathers and forefathers, a new event was introduced in the calendar in the form of Father’s day. The idea behind this introduction is simple. Following the introduction of Mothers’ day, the general public thought it only fitting to have an equivalent celebration for the father. It was in 1909 that one Mrs. Sonora Dodd of Washington thought of this novel idea to commemorate the work of a father and the role that he plays in society in bringing up the young ones.
